anyone re-power a 160 with a 4.3L?

I did a search and didnt come up with much. Wondering if anyone has re-powered a Sea Ray 160 with a 4.3L? If so, is it a major overhaul? will the outdrive bolt up, any major mods needed to make it fit?

Hello, I came across your post while searching for a nice used 160. After finding several that need a re-power, I thought about doing the same thing, but discovered that the hull isn't rated for the 175-205 hp that the V6 puts out. The transom would also sit quite a bit lower in the water due to the increased weight. Performance mods are few for the 3.0, but a Weber carb kit and electronic ignition can make a big difference. Perhaps a custom built 3.0 with a few different props would meet all of your performance needs.
