Anyone know anything about Dell Quay boats?

I am looking at a 13'6" dory that is for sale locally. I have been searching for a 13' Whaler for months with no luck and these appear similar.

When I was 13 years old I bought my first 13' Whaler. One of my best friends had a Dell Quay Dory that was almost identical in looks. My memory aint what it used to be but it seems to me the the DQD was a lot heavier than the Whaler. As I recall they were well made to match the styling of the Whaler, but also had all the bad habits too.

That's what I am finding out also. They were made heavier than the Whaler so that they could handle rougher water.

I am just having a hell of a time finding a Whaler. People are still asking $5k-$6k for a 13 footer from the 60s and 70s.
