Anyone in need of windshield glass for their sport boat?

Three things come to mind when reading the posting:

- No need to make a double posting people will see it in the classified section.

- The Glass is not available for sale by itself. If you damage the glass or it pops out of the frame they have to order the whole piece as well. The dealer is not able to put the glass back into the frame. They may send it back to the mfg to re-use or to put inot a frame but they (dealer) can not put it back into the frame.

- If you are filing an insurance claim, if the glass has any salvage value the glass belongs to the insurance company. They will sell the glass to someone and take it off of your claim (does not save you anything but makes your claim smaller). If you sell it and make any money off of the item you owe it back to the insurance company.

Three things come to my mind as well...

1. Sorry for the double post. Feel free to delete it if you want.
2. If the frame was sold seperately I would have repaired it myself. Having learned from this experience I can assure you that the glass CAN be placed back in the frame. I did it myself after my mishap. It takes a some work to get the gaskets right but it can be done. (I did it).
3. I have had many conversations with my insurance company over the last week and there was no talk of giving the glass to the insurance company and my dealer has no interest in it either. The check to settle the claim has already been cut and the claim is settled.

So if someone has broken a piece of glass on this boat mine is available for sale. Since a new complete windshield costs $1700+ I figure someone might be interested in saving some dough. Wouldn't you?
