Anyone going to Burton Island for the 4th?

Nice! We spent a weekend there last fall right after they closed for ther season. It is a beautiful spot but I'm not sure I could deal with it over a holiday. Might be too much for me to take. :smt101 We want to head up that way and to parts North on our next venture. Maybe we can hook up...

We will be out from Sat 'till Wed I hope. Probably start out in Malletts Bay and then head to North Beach for the fireworks.

Did you get the boat all squared away? I know you were having some issues...

See ya on the water,
Frank

Issues are partly squared away. It is still taking on water and to fix it they need to pull an engine. I am waiting until fall to have it done and until then we have it on shore power and have three people checking it daily.

Burton was great this year. We spent five days and only had one bad day where it rained most of the day.

Saturday I felt like we had gone north to Quebec as about 90% of the boats were from the Montreal area. Thanks for coming down, leaving your money and starting a great party!

Of course the down side is the boat problems. When I pulled away from the dock my port engine cut out when I put it in gear. I tried to restart it for a while on the way to Burton but packed it up after a while as I dock just a mile or so away. Docking was a challenge as the marina was full, we had a serious cross wind and I was down to one engine and another with a finicky shifter. I managed to get in the spot thanks to lots of spotters and line handlers. :)

The boat went back to the shop today after I disconnected the shift cutout so that I could get the engine in gear. The engine is being pulled in order to fix the leak and I am having new control put in. Let's hope this is the end of the problems.

Oh, Sea Ray won the most boats in the marina award for the time we were there. Second was a tie between Doral and Chaparral
