Anyone From Pittsburgh.....???

I just purchased my first cruiser over Labor Day weekend, and I am already looking forward to next spring!!

Is anyone from the Pittsburgh area and do you have any suggestions on a good river trip? I would like to start planning and saving now! Plus it will give me something to look forward to next year.

I was born and raised in Washington, Pa, went to college at California University, but now I live in Cincinnati. I just bought my first cruiser as well. I ended up buying it at Fox Chappel Marina in Pittsburgh in June of this year and had the boat shipped to Norris Lake in Tennessee. Sorry not much help on the river trips but just wanted to say hi to a fellow boater from the Burgh. Go Steelers!!!

I grew up there, but live near the river in Louisville now. Parents kept their boat in Beaver, PA, where Roger (say hi to him) used to work at the Sea Ray dealership.

Since you can trailer that boat, be sure to get it up to Erie some weekend. Also, you may get a subscription to Heartland Boating and think about taking a few days and going down to Cincinnati or Louisville. Best time would be July or August, when the river is the best. Fall is nice, too, unless the remnants of a tropical depression bring rain and screw up the river for a week. Jerry Hay, a Louisville local, makes a good river book for the Ohio.
