I bought a small one this summer to build a system to suck up the water that is too shallow to trigger the bilge pumps (on our boat that can run into 10 gallons in the three bilge sections). I never got around to the project as I found the water leak source and fixed that. But I did a bunch of proof of concept tests. They seem pretty well built. For what I was doing I wasn't too concerned. That said our existing water pump Shurflo is going strong after ten years, and when I sold our 280 that had the original pump that was 17 years old and still tickin like a Timex.

I hear you on the Shurflo. Ours is the original Shurflo and it is so damn loud. I have heard a few recordings of the Seaflo and they seem notably quieter. Could just be newer pump tech is quieter. I might just run both on the dock and see how they compare from a sound perspective.

Thanks.
