Any Police or Retired Police Members Here?

I'm sure there are. I've been retired from police work for 10 years now after doing 20+ years for the Baltimore County Police Dept. I've had many hobbies over the years including flying, motorcycles, sports cars and boating. Each of the other hobbies seem to be populated by cops so I was wondering who here, is or was?

They all must be on a case!

Congrats on such a long career and for serving and protecting the public. It seems like yesterday I was a teenager joing the police explorers in our town, spending 4 years with them, then attending the community college for 2 years in the law enforcement and criminal justice program. I was with our local pd auxillary and then the special division while testing all over the place at the sametime operating a small business. After all this time and the process my business grew and when my appointment to the academy arrived I decided to stay in business. I always did feel I missed out on something. Anyway 24 years later my friends on the force are all retiring. Anyway, I'm not the responder you were probably looking for but, God bless you for your contribution to society.

Thanks for the kind words. I knew many who started as explorers in our dept.

Since you're asking, I'm a Sergeant for a small town in Mass. Been on 12 years, looking forward to the point you're at.......more time for boating!

I actually have less time now. Gave up 6 weeks vacation to be self employed where I can barely squeak out 2 weeks. I do have alot of afternoons off though.

18 years in Security Forces, USAF (still in reserves) and I am an officer in Wichita Falls, TX

Greg, would you happen to know Brian Cates of the Baltimore County Police Dept. He is a member of the yacht club I belong to AND owns a Sea Ray 300DA.

P.S......................splashing Friday, MM Gunpowder has new rules now, you must be present when they launch your boat, maybe that is not a bad idea!

John,

The name sounds familiar but I don't think I ever met him.
Maybe I'll see your splash on Friday. With the nice weather expected I'm sure I'll be there sometime on Friday.
P.S. check your PM inbox.
