It poured down all day Saturday and now it's raining again this morning. It's probably dropped at least 2 inches of rain in the last 24 hours around here. It rained at Lake Barkley on us, so we decided to go home last night and maybe get on the Ohio River, but it's still raining.

What is the deal with holidays that you put so much pressure on to be great and turn out to just totally suck? Memorial weekend was just like this...

We had a lousy morning as it rained intermittently all morning. Finally cleared up around 2PM and we had about 2 hours of nice sunny weather. Then a storm rolled through with heavy rain, thunder & lightening. Wind wasn't too bad. By 6PM the sun was out and it remained beautiful the balance of the evening. Memorial weekend was actually fantastic this year . . . 3 really nice days. It is a rarity so I guess I wasn't expecting much for July 4th holiday (Friday was really nice as was today . . . Sunday).

7-3 was just an awesome day in Nashville. Mid 80's and low humidity.
We spent the night on the hook and came in on the 4th about 2PM as I noticed the dark clouds coming in from the north.

About the time we got home the sky opened up and more of same today. Rain not a bad thing mind you, but certainly put a damper on the afternoon/evening of the 4th.

I did some wrangling to have the 4th off from work so we could be on the boat.....rained all damn day.

We just got back on July 4th from a 9 day trip from LeClaire, IA to Clearwater, MN and back. We had every kind of weather imaginable. 90's and sunny to 50's and cloudy. Rainy, windy, clalm.....You name it! Even had a waterspout near LaCrosse, WI! All in all a great trip. Gonna do it again next year!

Nut & Honey ran flawlessly for 740 some miles. We get down near Princeton, IA and loose the starboard engine to a "injector fault". Crippled her hom the last 8 miles on one engine. It didn't take very long to figure out what side of the boat the power steering is on!!!

The "injector fault" turned out to be a blown fuse for the injector pump.

I have lots of pics and will try to post them as soon as I can.

NE Oklahoma had a rainy morning cleared up around 2pm but was overcast for the remainder of the 4th. Just as we were about to head out to the fireworks show we noticed lightning in the distance so we stayed at the cabin. Didn't see a drop of rain the rest of the weekend. I'm sure if we would have headed out it would have poured on us.

Friday was gorgeous, probably 95-100 and nothing but sun!
