Stopped by to check on my boat today after meeting up with some friends. It was a nice day here with temps in the mid 40's and SUNSHINE!!! I was so jealous of this guy though. Had his boat in the water and was waxing and varnishing the teak. Is that crazy or what to have a boat in the water in OHIO in February?

He's always in the water early but this year seems a little ridiculous.

Its an older Pacemaker named EMERALD

As I look out at the beach here in Kauai, no, I'm not jealous

However, at 4:00 tomorrow afternoon when I'm home, yes, I will be jealous.

Our lift doesn't even open until 4/1.

It's been great here, but I have a lot of crap to get done at home, so it's probably time to go!

If a front moves through with extended, strong winds out of the west, she'll be sitting on the bottom. This past Friday, we had winds at 50 mph +.

I do not have time to be jealous right now. Too much work to finish on my projects. But now I will have an ice maker making ice this summer. Just have to mount the ice maker but under the cabinet.

Took my gal out in the bay today just to have that feeling under my feet. It was the wife's first time on this boat and she was very happy with the ride. We were taken back this morning when we arrived at the dock to find the water had been blown out last night and the low tide was four plus feet lower than normal. Our boat and my buddies were fine, some others weren't literally hanging by the stern lines, some blow boats on the bottom too, freaky to see. The tide was coming back in after 1123 am so we went out around 1330. it was a beautiful day here on the Chesapeake. Not jealous all the way but I am chomping at the bit to get this summer going. Bad news is the sooner it gets here the faster it seems to leave. LOL

Naa, Not were we are. Both Marina's the one that Emerald is at and the one next door where Aftica stays is very very deep. A few years ago when we had the heavy west winds for a week and the water level dropped 6 to 10 feet we never saw bottom in our marinas. The channel and west harbor on the other hand was a marsh it was crazy. We had to sit on the dock and jump onto the bow just to get in the boat. Next door to me is a trawler and he was able to just step onto his fly bridge from the dock. It really is crazy what a little wind can do.

Jason--jealous? Yes and No. Yes because we won't be able to boat until late March. Not jealous because we're in Phoenix until then. Mid-70's yesterday when we landed. Spring training starts up soon and that's why we're here.

No... about 80 degrees F here (sorry)

slightly jealous of not being on the water but really annoyed with the weather
every time I talk about pulling her out of the old dusty dark barn to get some stuff done
the weather guys predict snow for the next day :smt013

I'll bet he's going to be alright this year. Come March, the solid freezing is done, so the marina will stay open from here on out. Floating docks will help with the windy weather and a little snow never hurt anything. A small heater in the engine room will keep things toasty. Hmmm, I think I talked myself into a boat ride this weekend:grin:.

I'm waiting till after the highschool basketball finals...that is always the last blast here

a little jealous, not that he's in the water but he already has access to his boat to work on wax and teak! I've got a monster laundry list of improvements I want to do and I won't have access to the boat till mid-March.:smt009

By way of a P.S. to my earlier post, when we took the family of that friend of mine that passed away out for our 'burial at sea' service, that was the fifth time we'd been out since the first of the year. We're fortunate in the area where we live because we can boat throughout the year.
