Hello All, I was wondering if anyone has had bought a AC/DC HDTV DVD combo for there boat? What brand and how long, are you happey or not? I have read mixed reviews. Thanks for your time..John 91 Sundancer 220DA

When I replaced the TV's on my boat I decided to avoid the combo TV's as I have heard the dvd players break long before the tv and it creates a wider panel on the TV. Instead I bought a sony portable DVD player that I can move around to any of the TV's on the boat. This allows me to replace components separately if any of them fail.

I have learned by experience that - if you have the space and battery capacity - the best option is to buy an a/c TV and run it with an inverter/charger. Your wife will appreciate this initiative (for reasons yet untold), can get the TV that you really want and you may also save in the long term. I like Jack's idea of a portable DVD also - simple, easy to remove/stow and far more reliable!
