Any cruizin' plans for 'down south'?

Randy,

I'm very sorry to hear about Nita. You are definitely making the right decision. Please give my regards to your wife, and my wishes for a quick recovery. We'll post lots of photos, and perhaps we can organize a small gathering on the water after she's recovered to celebrate.

Paul,

I'm a physicist by training, but in my day job, I've morphed more into an engineer to keep bread on the table. No, you didn't see me at the bridge run. My running (which has lapsed these last months after a bout with the (non-swine) flu) consists of 3 miles on the soft ground of our hilly farm about every other day, hardly up to the bridge run, but I have run on the bridge and it's a lots of fun. I can swim about the length of my car before my arms are spaghetti.

Chuck and Sweet Dreams,

Let's do get this party started and talk this thing up. Maybe we should start a new post as suggested. Should it be in the Carolinas section now?

I would think so.

I am looking forward to the Charleston "Rondevous" . All of the work that I spent all winter doing seems to be OK. Took the boat (EARLY TIMES) to lake 2 wk ends ago for a test run. Cleaned and wiped all day Sunday, the wax that i put on last fall seems to all be there. Admiral has just about completed her reabhoulstry (sp) job on the interia. I even cleaned the Magma grill, well maby a little. Don,t want to wash all the season off the thing. Everything seems to be takeing shape on this end, if the 22nd of May would just come on and get here. Come on YA'LL LETS TALK IT UP. Nicky

I thought memorial day was the 25? Don't tell me that I'll have to wait anooootherrrr wk. Nicky

Chuck's wrong and Nicky's right.

From Wikipedia:

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May (on May 25 in 2009).

So, we are talking the first day for the Rendezvous being Friday, May 22, and ending on Sunday May 24, I believe.

Nicky: "Let's talk it up!" Towards this end, I'm going to start a new thread tomorrow in the Carolinas forum. I'd do it now, but I need to confirm with my marina manager that we can flush the trailerboat motors before I post, since I want to include that in the post.

Sorry I was going with Traditional Memorial Day.

Memorial Day formerly was observed on May 30. I was thinking we were talking about the last weekend of May.

I'm screwed guys.

I don't think so, Judy said we had something at Church (Home Coming/Decoration) the 4th Sunday.

I screwed up when I looked at the calendar.

Now we are on the same page. I was worried, I'd already made plans to be off work, Admiral had made plans to do the same. Chuck, will you be trailering down on fri. ,if so which route will you be takeing. Sadler, will you be in Charleston, early Friday, I like to ride early when I have more than 50 miles to go. The heat is lower on the road. Plus i'll be so excited that I won't sleep much thursday nite. Nicky

So Chuck...did I read that right that you will NOT be making it now? If so, "screwed" up says it mildly! LOL

Nicky and Sadler...looks like we will probably trailer to Chas especially since traburne will not be coming along. We can make the Gtown to McClellanville and south area another time. So Sadler, include us in the parking the truck/trailer info and what landing. Thanks! Kes

Chuck, Ya'll need to come on and go. Tell you'r Admiral Grand ma Judy that we can have Church Sunday morning in a setting that will be better than inside any building. Also we can prepare a meal that will top any home comeing, even dinner on the grounds. Nicky

Bob and I will head down to Charleston Thursday after work, and we'll stay on the boat at the marina (doing a little boat clean-up, and odd jobs) until we cast off to meet at the anchorage Friday afternoon late. So, Nicky, or any of you who want to, can join us on the dock at the marina Friday anytime. If you have room in your truck, bring folding chairs for you and your crew to sit on at the marina. The launch ramp is right next door, so it's only a few hundred yards to walk over.

Kes--I'll send you and Nicky info on the launch ramp/parking/marina. Anyone else who needs the same, just let me know.

Nicky makes a very good case, Chuck. :smt001

Looks like we scared Chuck away, talking about a Subday morning service. He must think he will have to teach the class??????? Nicky

Not at all, I was trying to figure a way to over come the screw up. No way Judy can make it. Her last day at school with kids is Friday then she has to be back after the weekend for a couple days. I know, I should have looked at the calendar.

But

Being the great wife she is she said for me to go. Maybe she just want me out of the house for the weekend (Grin)

Do we have a itineray yet?
