Any cruizin' plans for 'down south'?

Sadler,
Did you have any tracks or waypoints saved showing where you are thinking about staying Friday?

Chuck,

I've sent you the info. Anyone else who is interested let me know, and I'll PM or email to you.

Sadler

edit: I'll send to everyone when we get closer, and we're sure where we're staying, but if you'd like to see the spot now, just let me know.

Sadler -

That would be us. It would be good to know beforehand where we are thinking of anchoring up. If you have the time please forward us that information also. Thank you.

Thanks Sadler -

Thanks for the bump Chuck.

Maybe we should do a roll call to see who is still planning to do the Memorial Day weekend cruise in Charleston, discussed in this thread.

Bob and I are definitely in.

Paul,
Are you not going to be able to get off?

There is no chance of me getting off that weekend as I perdicted earlier. I actually want to do the Low Country Splash which is a swim of Charleston Harbor that weekend in addition to going boating with ya'll. Not going to get to do either event.

They just do not have the staff to support me being off. Oh well after 30 years I am use to it.

As for the H1N1 flu lets all use our good judgement by washing our hands, covering our mouths and noses when coughing and sneezing, and keep your distance from others if you suspect you are ill at this time. Panic will do no good. If everyone will follow these guidelines I won't have to work so hard. I guess that is off topic.

Ya'll have fun.

I'm sorry you and Jane won't be able to make it Paul. Let us know if anything changes for the better. If you can get the time off, maybe we could get your swim in by anchoring a couple of our boats 2.4 miles apart on the Stono and doing a group swim. The Sea Ray Splash.

Have you done 2.4 miles before Paul? Wow. If my math is right, that's about 155 laps.

Sadler, nickysc, Sweet Dreams, et al -

Much to our disappointment Nita and myself won't be able to make it this year after all. She suffered a heart attack last week which resulted in the placement of a stent and will require several weeks of recovery. I'm sure you understand that I do not feel comfortable taking her that far away from medical assistance, and right now she really doesn't have the strength.

We were really looking forward to making the trip and meeting you all in person. Please post lots of pics so we can see what it was like. Also, please keep us in mind next time.

Until then, safe passages and happy cruisin' -

Randy and Nita

Are you an enginer or physics major Sadler? 155 laps in a 25 meter pool is correct. I owe you a beverage the next time our paths cross. Here is the link: http://www.lowcountrysplash.com/

I usually do not do open water swims. I try to swim at least 3000 meters several times a week in a pool. With the outgoing tide in the harbor that swim should not be hard as long as the water makes it to 77 degrees. Will the Stono splash be tidal assisted or beer assisted? Did I miss you at the bridge run this year Sadler? If you do both of these events you can get a combined entry time for the Low Country Splash.

Traburne, I hope your wife's recovery goes well and that her heart did not have much damage. Modern medicine can do a lot. You are making a good decision not to be far from medical assistance at this time.

Traburne - Sorry to hear that. Here is to a quick recovery.
Paul - Maybe next time. If I had not seen your boat in salt water, I would start to think you had a problem with it. Like some other unnamed member.(Grin)

Lets start talking this trip up, it is only 28 days away, but who is counting.

Randy, sorry to hear about Nita's heart. I know that she will have a quick recovery. Hope to meet you and Rita on the water before the summer is over. Nicky
