Just bought this new 2010 sun deck. Ski locker in the cockpit, has a drain around the seal of the hatch. The under side of the drain does not have hose for the water to drain like the forward bow locker. The water just falls into the locker. More concerning however, is that if you pull up the rubber floor material, there is a cut out that opens up to a small storage compartment between the water tank and fuel tank. In my boat this doesn't have a drain. It's about 12 inches deep by 20 inches wide. The water just pools and sits in this area! Can someone please confirm and compare to their 280. I can't believe this is correct. Standing water doesn't work for me in a boat! And no, before someone asks it is not supposed to be a live well. My dealer is following up with SR but want someone else to confirm. Thanks in advance.

How about a picture? The older 240/260 had a small holding area just before the drain to catch stuff before it ended up in the bilge. I made a wooden cut out for mine.

Here are some shots. You can see there is no drain line on the cockpit locker like the one in the front and then the open water sitting in this compartment with absolutely no way of draining unless it reaches the top and overflows either into the fuel area or the water tank area. There is no drain at a 107.jpgl105.jpgl111.jpg.

Wow that can't be right. There has to be some kind of drain, where else would the water go??? Is there any way to see back down there maybe with a mirror.

mmeilleur,

I have a 2010 260 Sundeck that had a similar issue - it did not come equipped with a bilge hose attached to the bulkhead fitting from the factory.

My dealer corrected the issue by drilling a hole in the plastic starboard floor and added a piece of hose to route the water to the lower floor.

There was already a hole in the lower floor leading to the hull of the boat for drainage - looks like I need to clean mine up a bit.

Hope this helps- enjoy your new Sundeck.
