Any 195 owners out there?????

Hey danoC33 - do you have any pics of the stereo install? I am planning on installing a system in my 195 soon and would lobe to see your setup. Thanks!

Scott

195 owner here - 2007, only had it out a handful of times since buying it late last season.

Plan on doing some waterskiing this year and installing a 4-blade prop after getting some rpm/speed numbers on the beater three prop on it now.

Otherwise at the moment I can't come up with any other mods that would make it much better than it is right now.

New member here and also a new boat owner! Ordered it back in September, it came in at the end of October and now I sit here at my computer and wait. Its 5 degrees here and more snow in the forecast.

I purchased a 2010 Sea Ray and love it. Got the new decals put on and ordered the JL tower speakers and a JL sub for it. I am trying to decide if I should mount the sub in the back between the coolers or below the CD player at an angle. Any input or pics of what ya'll have done?

Also I want to put in some blue LED's since my boat is white\blue, but what is the best kind to get, how many, and how did you have them wired?

I get my speakers next week and I'll post some pics when I get them in, im kinda leaning toward puting the sub below the CD player.

Here is my 07' 195. Just put the tower on last week and also a fish finder. Got 4 Wet Sounds Pro 60's on the way for the tower and thinking about putting a sub in too. Then on to the the dual battery switch, speakers for the bow, and also the LED's. Got some work to do I guess. I will post pics if I ever get around to doing it.

Ya it took me a long time to decide if I wanted JL or Wetsound. I went to Cartoys and they had both hooked up so I could hear the difference. Both are amazing, The wet sound sounded better further away and kinda "high" in the boat. The JL didnt project 80ft like wetsound but sounded better in the boat. I'm not a pro-wakeboarder so I went with the JL. at least one good sub makes a huge difference when I heard the with and without. I'm sure it will be sick when you get it done. Let me know where you get your LED's from. im trying to figure out the best ones to get.

i have the sub mounted in the cubby under the radio. That powers the tower speakers. I have considered the sub, but I would see if you need it once you get everything installed. I no longer think I need the sub in a boat my size.

Ya, I though about holding off on the sub. But the mrs wanted it so I figured I might as well, if anything I can turn it down.

Any other modifications you have done yet? I'm thinking about puting some blue LED's inside and in the back (water) since at night it is REAL dark since there isnt any bright lights on the boat. Just not sure what kind to get. . .

changed out the cup holders to stainless... the tower speakers have lights on them...... in the process of changing out the in boat speakers, adding a couple remotes, stainless grab handles, custom swim platform pad from seadek......the list goes on and on.... I am always working on the boat.....

Mitch Texas....

I've done a ton of stuff to my 195, including the sound system and LED's.... Pics are at the link in my signature.... I saw in an above post that you weren't really sure what LED's to go with.... I purchased all of my LED's from places like Oznium.com, super bright LEDs.com and cycle gear.com.....

As for undewater led's, you could search for shadow-castors, bullet lines also has some listed on their website. I opted to not drill or cut below the water line. Just placed LED's beneath my swim platform, as you can see in my pics....

I've done a few more things to my boat that aren't pictured like, plexiglass LED rings behind my radio remotes and cup holders and so on.... Let me know if you have any questions..... More than happy to give advice on what I learned during the process!

In the process now of installing a dual battery set-up.... Pretty simple and love the extra security it provides while being out on the water!

By the way, I still love my 195!!!!!

IDMO....

Google will bring up several options for the plexi rings...... But..... The price's are unbelievable! $30-$40 per ring, without LEDs.... I took it upon myself and made mine, for less than half the cost of what everyone is selling them for!

Merge - where ya been?? I just added the tower speakers to mine and now am unhappy with the in boats. Wetsounds....JLAudio...... what do you have / recommend for the in boats?

jmlloyd526...

Been laying low for a while! Wife had a baby, been working a lot, haven't been able to get the boat out!

I've got Polk Audio (DB Series) thru-out the entire boat.... If I had the time and money to do it all over again, I would go the Wetsounds route! They make great tower and in-boat speakers and when pushed with the correct amperage, they scream! JL Audio makes a great product, never heard any bad things about their product... But I have heard and researched Wetsounds equipment and was very impressed!

Hope this helps with your decision! Post up some pics when you get her complete!

I put the Polk Audio on the tower, so i may look into those for the in boats also.... Do you think I will need to amplify them or will the head unit suffice for those?

JL,
the custom swim pad from seadek, do they already have one for the 195 on file or are you going to have to draw out the custom template and mail it back to them. I looked at their website and did not see the 195 template on there. I was thinking of doing the same thing. Also I am trying to decide which in boat speakers to get too. I think I am going with the wetsounds 650's. I have 4 Pro 60's on the way for the tower and I may just try to keep it the same brand. They seem to have the best reviews around the web for marine audio.

JL...

Me, personally.... I would put them on an amp.... I'm guessing a 4-channel amp would be sufficient, depending on what kind of output your looking for.... I would also keep the brands the same, on the tower and the in-boats, but that's just me! I'm the guy you'll never catch wearing a pair of Nike's with an Adidas T-shirt on, if you know what I mean!!!!

Dalefan264 brings up a good point.... I looked into the Seadeck pad as well a couple of years back, but dogged it off because I was going to have to make a template.... I haven't been to their site in a minute, so I'm not sure if they have a template currently available... Can you elaborate?

@ Merge360...

Sharp looking boat! You've put a ton of time in that and it shows.

I'm very curious about your walk-thru plexi block I saw in your pics. What are the details on that? How thick is the plexi and what did you use for the side rails to hold it in place?

As far as the Seadek goes..... they sell it in sheets that can be cut trimmed to fit. I had them send me samples of different styles and colors. I will cover all of the textured area on the back part of the boat......when i get around to it...

jmlloyd526;

If you can find a Car Toys Audio store near you I would hit it up for speaker demo. I went to one that had JL towers and Wet Sound towers hooked up. I plugged my ipod in and got to hear the difference. Both are AMAZING! But it depends what you are looking for. The JL sound amazing in and around the boat, but wont push 80+ ft out. But the Wet Sound in my opinion sounded like a bunch of "highs" up close, and amazing 30ft+. So it depends what you want them for. I went with the 2 JL towers for now since im in or around the boat mostly. But I think I'm going to eventually order 2 wetsounds later on for when I do want to push the music further as well. My wallet wouldnt let me buy both. . .

FYI eveyone JL has speakers on sell right now %15 off
