Another Winter Storm Watch for Lower Michigan this Saturday. I guess you can say it's good for lake levels, but WTF, I'm ready to cut the shrink.

I just got back from the boat show. F this weather. :smt013

Just got back from Sarasota
74 degrees and sunny for 6 days
I hate this time of year

Haven't seen my boat since Oct 15
90/94 going to Michigan from Chicago
has been closed lately more than it's been open

At this rate I won't be cleaning it until April

What Global Warming?

I know this is a boating site but..... your snow is wonderful for snowmobiling. Just got back from Munising and had a great time and helped out your economy a lot. You Uppers do have a handle on that snow market. It's almost as much fun as boating, although a different kind of fun.

On the bright side, Lake Michigan/Huron is at chart datum right now during our low water season. Only goes up from here.

Just got an email from a friend and we just got 2 ft and it is still coming until 5:00AM Sat morning. I think our total so far is 130 inches for the season. I have had enough. I need summer, boating etc.

Bblack...

Great point. Went sledding up there a couple of years ago....what a blast. Wish it were closer to here.

Still want to go boating though.

This down time is killing me!!

I'm enjoying a cup of coffee by the fireplace. Can't see across the lake because of the blowing snow. Love this weather.

Winter storms and cold can cause shrinkage!:smt043

I grew up in NE Ohio in the southern tip of the snow belt. We now live in Tennessee which is a place that the world stops if they 2" of snow.
Unfortunately my kids never got the chance to experience a real snow down here.
You northern guys can have it though........I now cut the grass in March :smt043

Just to give you some warm thoughts. We hit the water today. Air temp hit 76, water temp was 67, 10 knot breeze and 1-2 foot chop. Winter is a nice time boating time for us.

Fishnut - I know, my Mom lives in Bonita Springs and rubs it in all the time. I used to spend summers on Ft Myers Beach, the second to last building on the southern tip of the island, Carlos Point Condo's. Did a lot of boating in your area...

There are a lot of Michiganders down here. I think Florida is a natural after you grow up boating in Michigan with all its lakes.

We went to the Fishhouse for lunch, the one by Big Carlos pass.

There is a down side. You have to polish and wax your boat at least 4 times each year. And in the summer you need to get off the water by 3-4 in the afternoon to avoid the thunderstorms. Well that is unless your admiral is crazy then it's not an issue.
