This is our first experience with vacuflush (we had Jabsco on previous boats) so bear with the another elementary question. It seems like the water pressure (filling the tank) is not strong - it takes a while to fill. We do have good water pressure at the sink. Is there a filter at the vacuflush lever or is this typical?

Again good water pressure everywhere else and yes I have cleaned the strainer at the water pump.

My vacuflush doesn't fill the bowl that fast, or even fill it full, but I don't think it's supposed to either. The way I understand it is, you don't want to fill up the holding tank too fast, so only using a little bit of water per flush is the way to go.

I was told to add water to the bowl for a #2, use it as is for a #1. Women usually add a little water for a #1 to make sure the toilet paper goes all the way down. Lifting the vacuflush pedal with your foot, will add more water to the bowl.

Mine acts just like Kevin's... very little water, add for the occasion.

The product is designed to be efficient. There is no need for a fast fill.

Thanks I didn't even think of that! On our last boat we had two large holding tanks (with tank level sensors) so filling the tanks was never on my mind. Being frugal with fresh water will the way to go.

And it would be undesirable to have a full bowl sloshing around while you are driving the boat.

Ours fills much slower when on city water than when pumping from our fresh water tank. City water pressure is much less than what our boat can pump.

Each, however, is much less than any faucet.
