I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but I'm back into boating after many years being out, and my memory is terrible, so I'm back to learning all over again.
My engine hatch cover was missing one of the shocks that hold it up Engine hatch cover.jpg engine cover bracket.jpg and I discovered why when I found that the top bracket that the shock hooks to was unglued. So I need to find an adhesive that is strong enough to hold the shock (which I've ordered) and will hold up to the vibration that I'm sure it will experience.

Does anyone have any experience along this line ?

Looks like epoxy was originally used. You could re-attached it with epoxy (need to sand/clean that area) or something like 3m 5200 -- be aware that 5200 is considered permanent, you will literally tear up the fiberglass if you ever tried to remove it. I rarely have used 5200 for that reason, but that said, I would think you want this to be permanent. Assuming you have the "doghouse" style engine cover and it was glued on since screws would pop through the outside?
