Another newer boat

American, good choice!

Sounds nice! I’d love to find an excuse to add a big diesel pickup to the fleet.

Pics or it didn't happen ;) LOL.
Sounds like a sweet ride.

As soon as the rains stop I will get some pics. After 10 years of no payments this is not something I really wanted to do. A bad ground fried the BCM and computer (never heard of a Body Control Module) they could not find the ground issue.

The BCM controls almost everything. I had one go in old Durango and it was like it was possessed. Would turn on headlights and only side one would come on - then hit the brights and it would turn off and the other side on. Also had issue with windshield wipers being on - it would randomly flash the headlights. Fortunately I picked up a used one online and all the demons were excorsized.

Doors would lock and unlock, all electrical cut off then back on, engine shut down then cut back on. It was ugly.

The new to me truck has many things I don't understand, like why two batteries and two alternators? What does the exhaust coolent actually do? I guess I have a lot to learn

I’ve got two BCM faults on my 2009 Trailblazer. Been hunting for them every time I have it on a lift. Not a mechanic, so I don’t know, but I think it’s got to be a grounding issue. Any kind of wet on the road or very cold and I get two indicator lights on the dash, both having to do with drivetrain. Very frustrating. If I could swing it I’d upgrade to a 2500 but for now I need to stay with an SUV.

I’ve never bought new, glad you were able to find a decent used pickup to meet your needs.

Many times it's just the BCM failing and causing the issue. Since they are computers they are subject to problems from moisture intrusion or other electrical issues frying them.

On my old suburban I learned the hard way not to jump the battery if dead with the key in the ignition. It allowed the surge to hit my transmission contol computer and it would not shift out of 4WD - had to replace that computer.

I would highly advise you not to buy new. Prices for a new 2500 were outrageous. This used 3500 was priced right but was still well below the price of a new 2500. Just saying
