Hi all,

I’m attempting to take a huge life change getting into the bigger boats. I’m a rank newby I admit but I really plan on getting into this area. I’ve been looking, reading and visiting boats and marinas.

My goal is to live aboard. It’s very tough here but I have found a marina that caters to this and spent considerabl time discussing my needs.

My current dream boat is a 45 foot Sundancer. It has Cat diesels. I’ve already investigated various problems encountered with these and spoken with several Cat people. I have a diesel truck I’ve put 400k+ miles on and do most of the service in it, so I’m not really new to diesels. Just water born ones.

I currently have a loan request going, so if it goes through I’ll be making an offer.

Living aboard. First question is what to do with household goods. I did a survey of my stuff....with exception of my computer work station and my classic cars I could walk away from everything I live with and not look back. Few can do this but I already have down sized and prepped for retirement years ago. Even my classic cars have been upgraded so I can drive them year around. They were built for this originally so no reason to not drive them and enjoy them. Ironically they appreciate yearly as long as you keep them in good shap.

So that’s the inside of the walnut. There is more in the bowl.
