Hi fellow Sea ray owners,

Just had a 6.3 earthquake hit Christchurch New Zealand....devastation in the central city and lots of injuries and sadly fatalities. Only 5 km deep and 10 ks south of Christchurch city. Lots more damage than the Sept 2010.
I hope Barlow and his family are safe.
My family and house are fine.

I saw the devastation on the news. You are all in my thoughts and prayers! Brings up memories of the '89 SF quake (Loma Prieta). My families house was less than a mile from the epicenter. It is truly amazing to see what can happen in just a matter of seconds. Good luck to you guys!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those poor souls affected in the Christchurch area. Such a beautiful city, reduced to rubble. We have a lot of very fond memories of Christchurch and even considered moving there last year. We were in Christchurch in March 2010 and spent our honeymoon in Christchurch back in 1988.

I fear there will be a lot of fatalities yet to be discovered.

Barlow, I hope and pray all is well with you and your family. And of course all others in Christchurch.

Thoughts and prayers to all there. My brother lives there and is ok as far as we know - hoping to hear more today!

Thanks for your support. Stores and petrol all sold out with people panic buying. The city is gridlocked with traffic jams and aftershocks are threatening more buildings.
It's amazing how our lives can be turned upside down in seconds..... Have learnt to enjoy what time we have on this Earth as no one knows what lies around the corner!
Get out and enjoy your boats this summer... Don't worry about the price of fuel as a good day on the water is priceless!

Hi Mike, stay safe mate. We have friends and rello's in and around Christchurch and Ashburton. I have heard that one of our relations has been injured when their chimney fell in on their house and landed on her. She is an elderly lady of frail build and at this stage I am not sure how bad her injuries are, we are hoping for the best.

Thanks for the good wishes everybody, we are safe and well.

Same cant be said for scores of people killed in falling buildings.

Make sure you enjoy all those good days on the water as you never know when your whole world may be tipped upside down.

Steve,
Glad to hear you and yours are ok. Be well mate!!

Mike and Barlow, NZ is on our prayers... Even though you all are half way around the world we are brothers... I am sure the good people of NZ will show the rest of the world the compassion and caring and strength of New Zealand people..

Hi Steve,

Pleased to hear you are well, We are out in Rangiora so not affected by the quake. I was at work at the airport when it hit and must say it scared the s#@t out me!
Watching that big concrete beam at Air New Zealands #1 hangar swaying around was a sight.
Take care and we'll hopefully catch up for that much needed beer some day when the dust settles.

I will look forward to that beer Mike.

I was in Keneperu Sound headed out on a fishing trip when boat started rocking from side to side on a mirror calm surface.

Needless to say am now home but the aftershocks continue unabated.

Poor sods in CTV House, looks like over 100 killed there alone.

Take care mate.
