Another Keys Trip Question

We are planning on a trip to the Keys in Aug. Wanted to find out if anyone has stayed or knows about Bahia Honda State Park. How are the beaches, Kayaking, snorkeling in the park? Are there any good shallow snorkeling areas close? How is the Marina? Thanks

370 Dancer Thanks for the link. We have gone over it several times, was looking to see if someone had actually been there in person to find out what it is really like.

With that being said I think we have shifted our stay to Hawks Cay. We have not completely decided, but that looks like the plan right now(untill the wife changes her mind next hour:grin.

We have camped at Bahia Honda before, in fact we are going back in April. It is a beautiful park and has probably the one of the best beach's in Florida. They do limit the number of people allowed in the park, so the beach never gets crowded. They do have some kayaking areas and snorkeling there is OK, better farther out. I did not check the marina out much the last time I was there but it seemed nice.
