For those of you familiar with the twin smoke stacks at Bowleys that have been a beacon for navigating home in weather, night, etc. They are being imploded on Friday at 8am. Will miss those boys.

Same thing happened in Ontario in 2010 when the “Four sisters” stacks of the Lakeview coal power station were demolished. They were visible for many miles and gave boaters in the greater Toronto area their bearings for many years before gps became cheap and simple.

Such a bummer. I have been boating out of Middle River since I was a kid in the 80's. They were such a great navigational aid.
