Has anyone heard about a cat stuffing and sinking on Sunday on the Upper Chesapeake, around Tolchester? A friend of a friend heard about it, I can't find anything on the internet. If so, it was a 36' Skater called "TomCat" out of the Bohemia River. I heard that the driver was in critical condition.

I assume that that is a high performance, light weight racing boat? Hope he's all right. That has to be just about like flying.

I heard he was doing 150 MPH but I didn't think the boat was capable of quite that speed.

OK, I actually thought we were talking about a sail boat. The video of that accident has been on Fox News all day. He got sideways and exploded across the top of the water. The cage stayed intact, but it wasn't pretty.

Here is a quote from the forum on the 36' Skater that was in the accident at the Lake Cumberland Poker Run:

"The boat was powered by twin Sterling 1150 HP engines and reportedly capable of speeds up to 150 mph."

The drive was doing 130 when he crashed, but as you can see from above, the boat was capable of faster.

Hampton - I have not seen the video on Fox news but I don't believe they are the same accident. This was a pleasure boat with 1/4 canopy's (no cage) out for a Sunday cruise so I'm not sure why there would be video.

uraldyx - I am aware of the Lake Cumberland accident, this happened (or supposedly happened) on the Upper Chesapeake Bay in MD.

So, not a sailboat, not the one on Fox News - Darn, would my balls be red or what?

Yep, there was a question regarding that particular boat having the ability to go 150 mph. I was just referencing the Lake Cumberland accident as it appears to be the same kind of boat, a 36' Skater cat. Did not mean to confuse anyone.
