I've added so much 12v crap that I've overloaded the house circuit. Low voltage at the helm when I've got lighting, electronics, pumps, etc. on). It's not the 8D batteries, so it's got to be the small (10 ga) feed. Here's what I can't figure out:
There are two 12v breaker panels in the bilge (Port & Stbd). Both P & S panels have a 50 amp "accessory" breaker. Turning off the Stbd. battery switch kills BOTH the helm AND the 12V main breaker panel in the salon- far as I can tell, the whole boat is dead.
So, what does the port accessory breaker feed?

Any reason I can't add another (8 ga., breakered) feed to the helm in addition to the "factory" feed?

On the 390EC we owned, only one battery bank served as house batteries.

Your boat is diesel and ours was gas so I can't explain the 2 50A breakers, but I would think you could run a seperate circuit to the helm station for a dedicated purpose. If it were me, I'd probably separate all the electronics from the house batteries and run a dedicated circuit for them. On our boat, which wasn't overloaded, I had to reboot all the electronics if I had to restart the engine powered by the house batteries since it took enough amperage to crank the engine that the voltage dropped too low that the electronics would shut down.

Thanks Frank.
I had the same problem with the electronics dying on engine start, so I added a Newmar Start-Guard (works great BTW).
Going to run a separate feed to the panel, I guess wherever that 50 amp circuit goes will remain a mystery :)
