Kind of a localized question for the Ft Lauderdale area...

So what are some of the anchorage areas within a reasonable distance (for a day trip) of Ft Lauderdale/Lighthouse point areas? I know about lake Boca but just wondering what else is out there?

Also, for an overnight trip... Are there any regulations that govern where you can anchor over night?

If you want to stay in Fort Lauderdale, you can anchor at Lake Sylvia, which is just to the south of the Bahia Cabana and the Bahia Mar..great place and easy to get to, close to Port Everglades and the ocean, as well as restaurants you can dock at.

I believe there is a three-day max at any anchorage in Broward county. Lake Sylvia is probably the best, but hug the concrete bulkhead going in - there's a shoal just east of the green day marker.
There's also decent anchoring in a cove at the entrance to "middle-river" but it can get busy with watersports on weekends.
