Anchorage Yacht Club

This is pretty funny, I bought my now boat from a guy at the anchorage. Rich was the Sales guy and Bruce Beck owned the boat somewhere near your new slip. The name of the boat at the time was "the Beckoning". Small world isn't it?

As I get older, I definitely feel that the world is a small(er), and I have been around the world 3 times. The boat to my left supposedly is owned by Rich (haven't officially met him yet). Others have walked up and introduced themselves to me, but Rich (if it is him) has not. I will introduce myself this weekend, if he is there.

The 390 is rich's boat. I have to say he was not very social to us while we where there seemed to keep to himself.i would grab lines etc as he came in as an attempt to warm up to him but he never did I wouldn't get upset if he doesn't share a beer with you I think it's because he "works" there.

Actually, one of the neighbors said the same thing about him - not social. One would think that an employee of the Anchorage would be the opposite.

By the way, how is the canvas company at Anchorage?

I don't think Rich is an employee of the Anchorage. He rents space there for his boat brokerage business and of course he keeps his boat there which I he used to live on during the season, not sure if he still lives on it. He is definitely not your standard extravert sales person, but he knows boats and helped me sell my 310da, allowing me to buy my 410da.

I believe he does live on it. Everytime I check on my boat after I work (2-10pm) in NYC, which of course takes me a while to get there (depending on which car I am driving :)), he is there. One thing I noticed is that it is not well lit in the area I am at. I guess, it would give one a better good night sleep and privacy, but was thinking for safety reasons while getting on and off the boat.
