anchor

It looks like it could work but that would all depend on how the anchor catches a snag. To get it loose you would have to pull it in the reverse direction of however it hits the bottom or what ever it snags on. I would still get something without tines on it...

I actually have 1 of these.
It worked well with our 1st sea ray, 21' boat, 215EC.
I don't use it at all now.
It needs something to get stuck on, such as rocks, branches, etc,
Not good for soft or sandy bottoms.

I agree. Some friends we tie up with a lot have one. They haven't yet admitted it just doesn't work that well on our lake bottoms. When we're leaving for the day, I always ask if they caught a catfish today.

I bought the 50.00 anchor I posted above. I spoke to the guy at bass pro, and he said it was a great anchor, and was easy to retrieve. Well you know where this is going. We went out saturday night to do some catfishing, and 30 min. into the trip the anchor was hung up. I tried and tried and finally had to cut the line. We were going out the next day, so I went to walmart and bought the 16.00 mushroom shaped one. We went out Saturday, and the secont time we anchored, yep it was hung up. We cut that one as well. We have to be doing something wrong here. I spent more money on anchors than gas this weekend. Now we have left 3 anchors at the bottom of table rock lake. I need help, should I just buy several of the cheapest anchors and keep cutting them loose, or is there one out there that will not get hung up? On the up side, I have decided to go with anchors away for the name. It is only right after all of this.

I wish I could give you some insight but we have only beached the last 2 seasons....
