The Wounded Warrior Sailing Regatta will take place in Annapolis, MD on Saturday, 8 September 2012.

Here is a brief description of the event: We will be working with wounded warriors from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the USNA Sailing Team and Band, as well as many other parties in Annapolis. The event is being promoted as an Army versus Navy/Marines sailing race. There will be a Pirate Adventures boat ride for the children and a harbor cruise for spouses. Lunch will be served at the park next to the National Sailing Center & Hall of Fame.

If anyone is interested/available to participate (volunteer opportunities are available for those that wish to bring their boat, wish to be on a boat, or wish to support land based activities), please send me a private message. I also can provide additional details about this most worthy event.

Thanks,

Do you know how to find events elsewhere? I am interested in doing something like this here. Any help would be appreciated.

Checkout http://www.patriotcruise.org. Although there are no events currently scheduled in the Tennessee vicinity, the organization is expanding beyond it homebase for the last five years. Adding a Florida event (and possibly a Tennessee and/or west coast event(s)) would be a great subject for discussion.

Thank you! I am definitely interested in doing something. I'll start there.

Steps, I cant participate, but wanted to thank you for your work. I feel like The WWP is the best cause out there right now.
I hope not to hijack, but we just got done, Friday night, raising a boat load of money for The Wounded Warrior Project. This year we held an upscale Dinner / Auction. We auctioned off trips as far away as South Africa, and autographed items from sports legends & popular musicians. If anyone wants some ideas just contact me.

mwph, Congratulations on the successful fund raising efforts on behalf of Wounded Warriors! It sounds like you had a fantastic event.
