Aluminum Hard top

Don't get me wrong. You' should be proud. The craftsmanship on the hardtop itself looks fantastic, and I think you've done a great job. I don't want to see it go downhill on you at the end.

Dude, I am sure a lot of us have been following this thread.. just wanted to say, nice job! Very impressive fabrication.

Very, very nice. Just beautiful craftsmanship. I’m also firmly in the anti fabric camp, but you’re right ..it’s your boat. Maybe you’ll prove us wrong, but I think it will be a matter of time until you have a multitude of problems with the fabric starting with mildew. Still, the aluminum piece is nothing short of gorgeous. Nice work.

You have awesome craftsmanship. You should be very proud of your skill set.
As for the fabric liner, hey man, it's your boat, if that is what you want, go for it. I agree with Mike (above) that I would have concerns with mildew, maybe some sort of protectant spray will reduce that.
Please continue to post pics as you progress.

It's like some one else said in another post " It's only money"!!! If it doesn't work we will pull it out and start over. I am sure it wont be for a year or two and by then I will have recovered from all the over run cost of this thing. Thank you for the complements. We are waiting for a little sunshine to get it mounted into the boat. Will post more pictures if things go as planned IF not you may find me in the obituaries. LOL It has been one heck of a rollercoaster ride doing this. A lot of ups and downs.

It sure doesn't look like it but the top is around 6" forward of where the windows will attach We made it longer to have more of a sun shade. I hope that the buffing will help the color to match better. We buffed out an area to get the color match

Almost done. Had the windows installed and back on the water. I have some regrets, in hind sight I think I would have liked to angle the forward section down more in the front. The interior will have to wait, maybe till fall.

Excellent work! When time comes to replace the windows, use white Stamoid fabric for borders.

This is an awesome project. This thread was a blast to read through. Looks fantastic!

Well we finally got our dream boat and the canvas is bad and I still like the looks of the hard tops. I might be starting all over again. We made so many improvements on the 280 that we felt a little buyers remorse. But we decided just to start over again. LOL
