I had to fill My Alpha I Gen II drive lube bottle twice in the last 4 weeks due to an alarm. It's either leaking at the bottle or the hose going down to the drive as I found lube in the bilge.

If I disconnect the bottle or even the alarm, does anyone know if there is a check valve in the hose? I don't want the lube following out of the drive back up the hose when its running. Actually is this even possible? I'm thinking it might flow up hill due to the pressure when the water pump is pumping.

No check valve and lube could come back up and out of the hose due to expansion and a slight pressurization when the engine is running. Unless access is the problem it should be pretty easy to follow the host back to the top of the transom assembly and find the leak. There is a fitting that passes the hose through the transom that disconnects.

The bottle probably has a hairline crack in the bottom. I had to replace one that was leaking as you describe and it was a crack.
