Alpha 1 water pump base replacement

When you replace the impeller in an Alpha 1 gen 1 drive, do you usually replace both the housing and the base or just the plastic housing? I see most kits do not include the base. It has two oil seals in it. Do they come installed in the base"

Any recommendations on brands - Sierra, GLM, Mallory verses Merc?

Since I keep the boat in a slip, I change everything while I'm at it. The labor to tear it down is the same so for the few dollars difference, why not put in a complete kit. I like Sierra or Merc, I've had no experience with GLM or Mallory, at least their water pumps.
