Alpha 1 gen 1 bellows replacement order?

Hi all,

I am doing a bellows replacement on 89 sea ray 200 CC. Which side first to attach bellows? Gimbal or bell housing first?

I find the bell housing first works easier, then simply push it on the transom end.

If you remove the bell housing, I would attached to gimbal first, then to the bell before re-mounting it with hinge pins. Just have move front to back movement when hinge pins are out of bell. I just did this to mine start of this season.

Remember to use the bellows adhesive.

Thanks for the replies. Finished the bellows on Sunday. Not sure if it was me or this job is just a lot of work in a very small area. Tried with exhaust and U-joint bellows attached to gimbal. Could not get U-joint bellows on to bell housing. Took apart and mounted u-joint bellows first to bell housing and push on the gimbal side. Still a lot of work.
