New to CSR. Recently bought a 2005 Sea Ray 185 Sport. Been a lot of fun so far. Looking forward to community assistance with maintenance and advice.

Welcome

Which island are you on? I lived in California for 20+ years and visited all the Islands many, many times enjoying each one. However, Maui is my favorite. Maui No ka oi.

Where do you do your boating?

Aloha Shawn, I live on Oahu and have for the past 13 years. As I have never had a boat on the ocean I'm keeping myself amused, for the time being, in Kaneohe Bay. The sand bar is a great place to drop anchor and enjoy a few cold beverages. I do like Maui as well as Kailua Kona on the big island but Kailua is home for me.

Over the years I've turned down a couple of job offers in Hawaii. While I thought living there would be good for me the timing or the job just weren't right. Living in Hawaii met all of my interests, golf, hiking, biking, snorkeling, etc. but the one thing missing was boating. Or at least the kind of boating I was used to. Also the expense of fuel and finding a place to keep a 40'+ boat were problematic.

Again, welcome to the Forum and enjoy your boat. Be careful too....the ocean can kick your ass several different directions all at once.
