Finally got the water warm enough to spend all day at the lake and get the kids out onto innertubes!! Was really nice this morning and then pretty windy mid day, then nice and calm this evening.
I saw a beautiful 290 over at Red Top and had my wife drooling. It was a black hull and I am not sure if they are someone on here? They had a small pincher dog my girls were talking about allllll day!:smt043:smt021:smt043
Well, looking forward to one more day since it is supposed to be so nice tomorrow too. I am trying to talk the wife into running up to Lake Lanier and spending the day tomorrow, Any suggestions??

Scott,
Were did you launch at. I'm thinking of hauling MS Judy down and launching at Little River tomorrow.

We'll be out tomorrow as well. If you are coming down 575, Little River is as good as any.

I will be launching out of little River also. Its a good spot.

Watch the debris out on the lake. I had to have my head on a swivel yesterday!:smt101

Had a great day on Allatoona today. Was that you JediJD that we saw at the little river ramp? The only bad part was at the end of the day with the crazys at the ramp. Almost took out a canoe full of Mexicans that paddled right in front of me will I was trying to get on the trailer. What other ramps are on the east side of the lake.

Yes I was surprised by the debris and how muddy the water was on the east side of the lake.

:smt043:smt043:lol:
Nope not JediJD, it was me! My son and I took an early run today while my wife and daughters went shopping. We were keepin an eye out for you all day and caught you at the ramp.

My boat looks just like JediJD's, but I think his is an 08.

It was great to see you though! How come there is no CSR sticker on the back window of that durango?? (GRIN)

Scott,

Cool, Wish we had more time on the lake. We got down around 12 and did most of the lake just to get a feel for it. Ran all the way up Stamp Creek to see the area we talking about for the raft up in June.
I hear you about the CSR Sticker. Maybe the crew will get me one (Grin)
Chuck

Did you see the crazies around the ramp?

Oh yes, it was pretty busy yesterday. I dont know why the DNR guys :smt021 dont run people off fishing by the ramps or sitting on the dock at the ramp:smt101. It is not like that all the time at all. I think I was more suprised by all the debris on that side of the lake. Usually after a good rain there is some, but it must be because it is 2.5ft over full pool.

We usually put in there but run over to the other side of the lake to swim and tube with the kids. Plus my wife likes to window shop the cruisers over there:smt100. Wish you could have stayed, it really gets nice after about 5 and the wind really calmed down too.

Sorry I missed y'all this weekend. We spent friday night and saturday in flamingo. We had hoped to get out sunday but it just didn't work out. Great map Chuck.

The Cherokee side is often muddy with debris. That's where the Etowah empties in to the lake. So any time it rains you get mud and debris. Not so much at the other end of the lake. Although, this year, with so much rain we see debris throughout the lake.

Chuck ran stamp creek this weekend and the five fingers area I think five fingers will be the best location for the raft-up. Five Fingers is just past wilderness camp bearing right.

Darn! Sorry I missed you guys! I had my two older boys and nephew. We were stuck Friday and Saturday with girl's soccer and honeydo. Sunday we started near Red Top mountain at Bartow Carver Park, drove up McCaskey Creek to preview the Allatoona June get together, then putt'ed over to Flamingo cove where (outside the cove) the boys did some kneeboarding. We then settled back to enjoy the afternoon with perhaps a frosty adult malt beverage and cigar before carefully and responsibly zipping back to button up and let the womenfolk prepare a dinner (since they took the afternoon to attend to some baby shower instead of the lake...go figure). Five fingers should be perfect!

I try very hard to be a good neighbor on the lake, but I don't have a lot of sympathy for fishing or partyboating around loading ramps.

A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

We spent the weekend at five fingers - it was a perfect place - I would recommend it for the "dive-in weekend" in June.

Based on the route picture I upload I'm sure we crossed paths Sunday. I tried to run most of the lake.

Five fingers is the only place we did not go! I did not go around to Red Top Sunday either. I was puzzled as my speedo stopped reading for some reason?

There sure were a lot of you big guys buzzing around Sunday though! We stayed all the way to the Right after passing in front of the yacht club and went back into that large cove and there were a bunch of Sea Rays and 4-6 big guys tied up. It was a full cove, but a little mature for my boy so I grabbed a looooooooong look at the dancing beauties and left (sniff sniff).

Any of you back there?

Did you see the couple go-fast running the bigger open sections of the lake on the east side of Red Top. Neat catamaran hull.

With all the debris it does not surprise me that your speedo was acting up.:smt100 Allatoona sure has a bunch of neat coves. Somebody needs go make a make to all the party coves with some kind of ratings on them:thumbsup:

Are you referring to the big 320 or 340 white hull that was zooming around over by Red Top? I could hear the gas pump dinging away with that sweet boat running wide open!:smt038

There are a couple of guys with those Baja cigarette boats running wide open and jumping around waves that make me nervous cause they fly around those channels switching sides like crazy.:smt101:wow::smt101

I think you stumbled on Cocktail Cove. It's R rated. Kind of like Havasu. With 2 daughters on board we never go in there:wow:
