Hello all 420DA owners. My wife and I are enjoying our new to us 1990 Sea Ray 420DA. We are looking at many little projects and things to do on it to make it more (for us). I have extended the Platform Bottom one to 48" put in some underwater lights and changed all of the lights to LED and new electronics. What we are looking for is ideas and pictures of what others have done with this great boat to make it better and maybe incorporate some of those ideas in ours. Also we are trying to figure out the main salon couch and how to layout the cushions to make the bed and if the table insert is needed (it was missing when we bought the boat) or if there is maybe a cushion missing as well. I really hope that there are some owners out there that will share some pictures and such with us. There are not many out there for sale so looking through the ads to see what people have done has not been very productive.

So please share Cabin, cockpit, dash, flooring engine room, electronic, decorating and just general pics of your Sea Ray with us please. I know there are alot of ideas out there and I would love to see them. Have a great day all and I look forward to seeing your ideas. Feel free to email or PM me as well. :smt024

Steven welcome to the club. We also have a 42" but it is a 1991 and have done the same upgrades as you, platform and lights. We have just finished installing new snap in carpet on the deck. I will see if I have a picture of the couch and deck and post them shortly. Our table lowers and there is three boards and an oval shaped cushion that fits on top of the table, to make the bed. I hope that will help you out. I will be watching this thread to see what other people have done. Just curious, what motors do u have?

We are currently in that market, 90's 440da, and the swim platforms seem soo small. What did you do to the platforms or where did you get platforms? Anything necessary to beef up the transom?

thanks, cale

If you are looking for a larger swim platform go to www.swimplatforms.com They make a factory product that can't be beat. Even if you don't see your boat, or the boat you are looking to buy listed, they can still make you a larger swim platform.

I have the Twin 454's in mine. I looked at one with the diesels but it was not near as clean inside as this one was. You could eat off the floor in the engine room on this one.....

I am of course in Northern Ontario. I searched all over and found a company out of Toronto area http://www.yourswimplatforms.com/ I dealt with Matt there. I now have a 48" wide platform and other than the struts to the hull no real mods were needed. I also am installing the custom davits I designed this weekend to carry my inflatable which is about 500 pounds. They will use the whole platform which I had them beef up a bit for support. Should be a sweet setup as soon as I get it installed I will take some pictures. It is sort of a hidden hitch idea like on a truck.
