Boat Info
2002 SR 240 Sundeck
Engines
Mercruiser MCM 350 5.7L EFI w/ Bravo III 2.00:1 outdrive
I have a 2002 SR 240 Sundeck. When I first turn the key on the the "normal" alarm goes off; then a few seconds later an alarm that sounds louder starts sounding off. The alarm keeps blaring until I reach 25 to 30 mph; if I slow down it starts up again. The manual says the alarm could be caused by overheating or low oil in the foot. All instruments show normal and I just had the outdrive serviced at the end of the last season. I can hear the exhaust fan running so it does not appear to be a fan problem. Does anyone have any ideas ?????

Well ,if you keep operating it with an alarm you will find out what it is when it breaks
What is normal on the instruments?

bubbles in the drive fluid work their way out, and cause a low oil alarm. happens to me every time I service the drive. check your drive oil reservoir, top port side, at front of engine. Use ONLY mercury High performance drive fluid in a B3.

THANKS A MILLION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You really saved my bacon and my wife's ears ! I took 4 qts down to the boat expecting a major problem. It took maybe a 1/2 pt and the alarm problem was gone ! THANKS AGAIN ! No way did I think it was a drive oil problem since I just had it serviced and then the alarm went off when I reached cruising speed. I am a 4 1/2 hour drive from the nearest Sea Ray dealer and I really depend on this forum all the boat owners.
