Gents, I was cruising at 3800 rpm (a distance of about 1 mile) and my alarm went off (steady sound). The Smartcraft read that I was going too fast and alerted me to lower the rpms. I stopped for about 1 minute and resumed again at 3800 to see if the alarm would sound again; it did not. I've cruised at 3800 and even higher at times and for longer distances and never had this issue.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Willie

Heh, mine did that too this weekend:wow:was at full throttle for about 25 minutes going across the lake. I slowed down and went back up to speed and it never did it again... weird. must just be a quirky thing , as my boat is a 1998.:smt101

Bizzare, I had the same experience yesterday, after 5 mins @ 3800-4000 rpm......guardian kicked in, and I had to limp home at 1000 rpm. digital water pressure had dropped to 0.0. Today, mechanic hooked up the way back machine and found no error codes, engine running fine, shrugged his shoulders and told me to give it another try. Will do so tomorrow and advise.

same issue..10 mins @3800, wagter pressure drops to zedro, guardian kicks in..idle speed for 20 mins, pressure back up to 8 psi, back up to 3500 rpm for 1o mins, pressure drops back to o, guardian kisks in, repeat , repeat.......new mechanic to diagnose on monday.

Never experienced that alarm. I haven't tried "pegging" the rpm's yet, but have traveled over 4000 rpm's for long distances to keep my speed up. What is the red line for 350/300 HP Horizons?

I thought that alarm only went off when you are still in the first 10+-hours/break-in period??
