I have an 09 v6 TKS and an 05 v6 TKS with outdrives. When I'm getting up on plane the alarm beeps once and than it sounds for a few seconds before shutting off. The engines are running great (knock on wood) the gauges all look good. The temp on the motors were tested with a heat gun and show 162 on both.

Once the alarm sounds I power down a bit, it shuts off and I can run the boat all day without hearing it again.

any ideas of where to look?

I experience the same problem on occassion. It doesn't necessarily happen when I'm trying to get on plane, and it is more of a 2-3 second buzzing sounds vs. a beep. It kind of sounds like the high water alarm, but my bilge is dry. It goes away without having to do anything.

I'm at a loss for this alarm!! i've got more new parts than old, one brand new engine the other with 125 hours or so....one new outdrive and the other was just gone through. No reason for alarms that I can see! The resovoirs are full, drive oil just changed....oil is full and clean....I'm open to ideas and getting very frustrated!!

Like SeaRay495 said, what about water in bilge? Do you have a high water alarm? That sounds like a good place to start, anyways.

Just happened to me to on my new 270 Amberjack. The exact same issue when coming up on plane. I'm at a loss. I need to check the oil.

I have no water in the bilge, that's more of a "vibrating sound" alarm than the engine warning alarms. Everything looks good and topped off...MWillis let me know what you find. I'm going to look into it on my next day off.

I don't have water in my bilge either. Like I said, it is not a beep. Just a buzzing sound for 3-4 seconds and then it goes away without me doing anything.

Hmmm. Boy, I was really hoping you were going to say "Duh! Never even thought about water in the bilge!" :smt001

Well, correct if I'm wrong here, but the alarm will only go off for 1 of 3 things, right? Engine temp, oil PSI and drive lube. How about disconnecting two at a time to try and at least narrow down which one is going off?

I'd start with the gear lube monitor.

You don't have EFI or MPI, correct? I saw you wrote TKS, just double checking.

I have the turn key start models. We must be on the same page; I disconnected the reservoir jugs to see if that would correct it. It didn't.....not sure what's next. Oil is fine; one engine in brand new, the other has less than 150 hours on it. As I said all fluids are clean and full. Temps were checked with a heat gun and showed 162...

I was told about a "water pressure sensor" ??? not sure if this even exists...

On that, I don't know. There's definitely a water PSI sensor with Smartcraft, not sure on carb's models. I didn't think there was:huh: My first thought as I was reading your original post was water PSI, but I was thinking Smartcraft at that point.

I'm checking with a local mechanic. If he can't figure it out i guess it's time to take it to sea ray.

Or just a "Merc Certified" dealer... If that's more convenient.
