I bought this transducer by mistake. It's never been used. It has a 10' cord with black, purple, blue, white and bare leads.
$250 new

Hi, is that the correct number? 44-031-2? What model is it? I can't find that particular number, thanks.
 
I agree check part number again. I am looking for smart craft depth/water temp transducer. The one on my boat that's broken says 044-031-3-01 and that's an old number. Also says 888828-1
 
I think the "P17" might be the housing?
I still can't find the "44-031-2-01" or "888828"
 
Is there a date in the sensor or year? Seems older. I can't find if its compatible too.

Sent you a p/m. How old is that sensor? Mine is an 04 so yours is older? I called airmar and got nowhere.
 
For those asking questions about this transducer, I have one installed on my 2008 240 Sundancer. It only provides depth and temperature. It does not provide fishfinding capability.
 
I have a Sea Ray 240 and I think my Transducer just went out? it started flash 000 and --- so it is not reading depth : I did a search and this thread came up: I have a sticker on the wire of the Though hull transducer and it has (Customer part # 888828 and PN: 44-031-2-01 235kHz-C Smart IDT-P17)

a lot of info on this decal: Does someone have any info: or do I just to the dealer and purchase one for $250?

Reviving this thread as my depth transducer seems to have died and the specs above are the same as mine, ie label on wire going to transducer has:
Smart IDT-P17
235kHz -C
PN: 44-031-2-01

I think I’ve found the replacement at Mercury (Part 79-8M0122505) but they want $325. Anyone have a new or used one they are wanting to sell or know of any tricks to get it working again?

I believe you are correct 8M0122505. As the guys discovered years ago, this is a depth sensor/temp sensor and was custom made for Mercruiser for Smartcraft. I have the identical one to yours and it has failed (Smartcraft can't see it). Because it is a bear to get to in my boat, I just bought it from PartrsVu for $300. As soon as I get the new one installed I will pull the old one apart and see if there are serviceable components (I doubt it).
