My A/C's blow nice and cold in all of the rooms on my boat. The problem that I now have is that even though the rooms get cold, there is no air circulation, particularly in the aft cabin. I have a small fan going in the cabin but I think that the cool air is being stifled by the fact that we keep the door closed (kids).

Any suggestions?

My $0.02... The key to circulation is returns. That is usually the weak point and it's hard to put in returns on a boat. Is there a unit in the aft cabin? If so check the return grill and clean it out so that there is good airflow back. That should help a bit.

If your AC is compatible, you might consider putting a remote air sensor in the return. The AC will run based on the temp of the return air rather than the thermostat reading.

Make sure that your fan on the units is set to continue to run even when the compressor is off. Also check the calibration of your temp in the room with what the thermostat is saying. I had a similar issue and turned out to be that the thermostat for the units was reading a few degrees higher then the actual temp in the room. Also check the return air filters. If they are not clean it will slow air flow way down.

RETURNS !!!! closing the door prevents the air from returning to the ac unit . Dont fully close the door . ( fan on wont help if the return is else where. )
With the door fully open the problem goes away ?
