Hello! I'm new here - looking for friendship and free advice :) We put hand money last night on a 24' Sundancer pending the results of the survey. But, it doesn't have a trailer. Where do you find new/used trailers and is new better than used or is used just cheaper???

Thanks for your help!

Welcome aboard and good luck with your new addition. My $.02 on trailers...had always bought them with boats until the last one. Do not regret it. You can buy one on Craigslist or eBay if you just have to have one, or if your boat stays docked most of the time, nose around your marina for someone who will rent you theirs for a weekend or so if you are hauling it.

Many marinas, at the end of the year, have trailers that have just accumulated for some reason or other...saves a boat load of money to call and ask. Boat repair shops are often looking to get rid of them. Takes some legwork, but a pretty easy search.

Welcome. If you get a used trailer just check to ensure the brakes work correctly as well as all of the lights. Depending on what you plan to tow with you may want to look for an aluminum trailer to save some weight. Good luck with your search. You can try Search Tempest to help you search out multiple classified listings at one time: http://www.searchtempest.com/

Wow. Great search engine. Added to my favorites.

I'll say - about that search engine - it's great! Had no idea there was something out there like that. :smt038
