Greetings!
My wife and I purchased a 1979 Sea Ray SRV300 Sedan Bridge in August of 2015 in Port Clinton, OH! This is our 1st "big" power boat. We figured that this would be a good boat to learn on, fix up a little and learn the ins and outs of Great Lakes power boating before upgrading to a newer, bigger boat. We also spend our weekends and time off of work staying on the boat as our getaway home. We live on a lake in south central Michigan and keep our boat, Pure Pleasure, at Catawba Island, OH on Lake Erie. We belong to the Toledo Sail and Power Squadron and are currently taking as many boating courses as we can.
I joined this forum in hopes of sharing experiences and gaining knowledge from other people who share our passion and brand.
I have been a power boater; ranging from pontoon boats, jet skis, and speed/jet boats, for 30ish years on inland lakes in Michigan. My wife has spent the past 25 years on 36-38 foot sailboats on Lake Erie. We were given a 17' Apollo sail boat last summer with the hopes of me learning how to sail... so far, it's not my thing. I'm more of a "turn the key and go" guy!
I'm looking forward to lots of informative reading and conversations on this forum and possibly even meeting/boating in person! Maybe we'll even have an adult beverage on Put-In-Bay!
Anyway, that's my story.
Cheers
Here's a picture of our boat, Pure Pleasure. It really looks small slipped next to my wife's uncle's 50' Uniflite!
