Greetings!

My wife and I purchased a 1979 Sea Ray SRV300 Sedan Bridge in August of 2015 in Port Clinton, OH! This is our 1st "big" power boat. We figured that this would be a good boat to learn on, fix up a little and learn the ins and outs of Great Lakes power boating before upgrading to a newer, bigger boat. We also spend our weekends and time off of work staying on the boat as our getaway home. We live on a lake in south central Michigan and keep our boat, Pure Pleasure, at Catawba Island, OH on Lake Erie. We belong to the Toledo Sail and Power Squadron and are currently taking as many boating courses as we can.

I joined this forum in hopes of sharing experiences and gaining knowledge from other people who share our passion and brand.

I have been a power boater; ranging from pontoon boats, jet skis, and speed/jet boats, for 30ish years on inland lakes in Michigan. My wife has spent the past 25 years on 36-38 foot sailboats on Lake Erie. We were given a 17' Apollo sail boat last summer with the hopes of me learning how to sail... so far, it's not my thing. I'm more of a "turn the key and go" guy!

I'm looking forward to lots of informative reading and conversations on this forum and possibly even meeting/boating in person! Maybe we'll even have an adult beverage on Put-In-Bay!

Anyway, that's my story.

Cheers

Here's a picture of our boat, Pure Pleasure. It really looks small slipped next to my wife's uncle's 50' Uniflite!

Welcome aboard CSR. Nice looking boat and you're going to love her. She might make your wife jealous as you pay more and more attention to the boat.

BTW, nice job on getting your wife to come over from the dark side (blow boater side!).

Welcome to CSR! That's one fine looking classic! Congrats on your purchase.

Thanks

Lots of nice looking boats there!

Apparently, according to Mrs. Strypes, our next boat is a 1995 550 Sedan Bridge! Lol!

Cheers! - Beautiful boat!
Where are you at on Catawba? There are a lot of CSR members up in that area
Make sure that you check out the 'Great Lakes' Forum. Every year there is a CSR rendezvous up near the islands (that this year I might actually be able to attend :smt038 )

Welcome. Nice looking boat. I love the built in seats on the bow. Very cool. I'd love to see more pics of the inside, if you have them.

Cheers and thank you!

We are at Midway Marina, slip 476. Stop by anytime! We're always there at least Thursday to Sunday, April to October 31st!

We would love to meet up with fellow boaters! we like making new friends and learning from other peoples experiences!

I'll definitely poke around the Great Lakes threads...

Cheers

Thank you, thank you!

The built in seats are neat! The boat came w/ the original cushions, which look brand new. Mrs. Strypes and her friends like sitting up there when we're sitting at our slip having a few cocktails!

I'll see what I can come up with for inside pics...

Should I put them in a different thread or would it be okay to post them in here? I don't want to be a rule breaker right from the get go!

Cheers

Looks like a sweet boat. Best of luck with it.

Thanks, we love it! So far, it's been a fantastic boat!
