AGM battery plus Intelli Power PD2030 converter

Walmart has Group 31 marine batteries from VMAX, I am not familiar with the brand, but maybe a starting point for research.

Walmart’s brand is made by the same company that makes Interstate and they’re made to the same specs. I’ve gotten some marine dual purpose batteries from them in the past, but I’ve never seen AGM’s in the store and the only one I’ve seen on their website is the Optima group 34.

Interstate is manufactured my Exide which is a divisoin of Johnson Controls. The issue I have here is simply this... Walmart brands their own batteries as Everstart, they are made by whomever is the cheapest that year. There is not a consistent manufacturer of their batteries. Some may be Johnson Controls, some may be Chinese, some may be Saudi... You can't say they are made by Johnson controls because it's just not always the case...

Speaking of cases, if you want to dig into this, do the comparison on specs's weights, and case styling, that will give you a good idea but I cannot tell you enough to stick with a higher end brand. What are you saving by going with Everstart? Find a reputable Interstate/Exide dealer and know what you are buying.

This is similar for other "House" branded batteries although historically some are fairly reputable such as diehard at Sears.

I have a NorthStar AGM in all my vehicles and will be putting them on the boat when the time comes. One advantage to AGMs I've not seen mentioned is better low temperature performance. Something to consider if you use them in harsher environments.

EastPenn manufacturing makes Deka batteries, and I believe they also label the Duracell batteries, my tech recommended Deka, and that was another reason I am going with the Duracell’s.

Installed the 4 Duracell 31DTMAGM batteries today. Took a ride after I installed them, boat ran great. Now thruster does not pause on start, no longer beeps after 20 seconds, engines started just fine, fridge, lights, water pump, and radio ran for 5 hours, no loss of starting power. So
Far, so good!! They fit in the trays really snug, but overall a great fit.
