I am considering adding a custom wakeboard tower. Has anyone added an aftermarket wakeboard tower to a 290/300 Sundeck? The OEM tower for the 290/300 requires major work and a window replacement (and bimini replacement) so not an option. For those of you that have added an aftermarket tower …

  • do you have any preferred manufacturer?
  • any pictures to share?
  • did you install on your own or have installed?
  • Opinions of fixed vs. folding?

I don't want to hijack your thread but if anyone reading this has recommendations on a removable wakeboard pylon they'd recommend I'd really appreciate hearing about their experiences. I've read about Skylon, Insanity, and Launch pylons but don't know anyone who has first hand experience with any of them. I've considered adding a tower but the expense and making it work with my existing bimini are issues.

Check out the Big Air H2O tower. it is a tall tower and wide at the top. I am thinking it will fit around my bimini, so it might fit around yours. It is on sale right now too.

Check out Roswell area 52 tower looks sweet, prewired also and very well made!!!!!

Thanks all - talking to a bunch of different tower suppliers (NewDimension, Sampson, BigAir, DBGconcepts, etc.). Impressed with the guys at DBG and their experience/knowledge. Key issue with all that vendors I have talked to is keeping my current bimini/camper hardware/tops due to width of them at the top. Many propose putting tower further back and then not using caper top (personally I do not like the look of having the tower towards the stern and honestly want to use my camper canvas). Taking detailed measurements to see if we can custom build something the looks/functions correctly placed where it will look right. Has anyone added an aftermarket tower and kept their bimini and camper tops?

There are a few people here that shortened the support poles on their bimini tops just enough to clear the tower. That might be a cheaper option than getting a custom tower. It might be more aesthetically appealing too.
