Aft seat (engine compartment) cover.

The electric telescoping pole that opens the engine box (seat) cover on my 290SS quit working.....Is there a fuse that needs replacement or am I looking at a new telescoping pole with motor????? Thanks

You may want to check that "pull pin" that allows you to manually disconnect the pole in an emergency has not worked its way free and disconnected the pole from the cover first. Normally there is a small access cover that allows you access to this pin with your hand and you may find that it has worked its way free (basically the pin will not be there or the telescoping pole). If so, you'll need to open the hatch manually and reconnect the pole. While the initial part of opening is daunting, once you get it about 30 percent open it starts to get easier. I had this happen to me twice after an engine transplant and ended up replacing the pin with a bolt.

Otherwise, on page 37 of the owner's manual, http://www.searay.com/boat_graphics/electronic_brochure/Company1729/1C1_23_74DEJAKCI4C.pdf , there's a 20 amp breaker for the lift located on the EIM on the portside of the engine compartment. The schematics don't show another fuse inline with the circuit path that I could determine.
