On my 05 340DA I find this bed area to small for 2 adults to fit with some level of comfort. I feel if i had an insert that fills the area from the edge of bench seat below the breaker box to the vacuum cupboard this could be achieved. Anyone done something like this?

The previous owners of our boat had two cushions made up. One that fits the entire length of the rear berth. Maybe a foot wide and the other for the space in the seat back. Still narrow for 2 people but doable. P9230048.jpg

I'm not sure. I will look closer at it next time I go out to the boat and will also try to remember to take a camera. I have never broken down the bed..

In my 300DA you pull the seat base out forward toward the steps, then use the filler bolster cushions (one under the secret compartment and one under the mirror along the entire back) to fill in the gaps where the seat pulled forward.

In mark's photo below, it doesnt look like they have been removed/used.

In our 340 DA you just pull the seat forward to the cabinet under the stairs and then fill the gap with the back rest cushions from the mid berth (back & side) and the small surplus cushion which is about 18" x 12" that was supplied from new. I thought all 340's had this set up which makes a double berth, albeit a bit small.

I've come up with a multipurpose but rudimentary solution. The ice box I use on the boat for extended stays measures W1050mmx D550mmx H400mm. It approximates the space (width & depth) forward of the bed in the pulled out position. I'm getting a cushion made up for the top of the ice box - the sleeping space ice box in place will be approx. 1800 mm long by 1700 wide. It can also double as a small bench seat on the marlin board whilst still carrying out the purpose it was built for - cooling beer - I mean food!!

1 millimetre equals a smidge over 1/25 of an inch

1800x 1700 - about 6 foot x 5 1/2 foot by my calculation or 3.3 cubits by 3 cubits
