Considering strapping an inflatable rowboat to the back of a 260 SunDeck for some easy rows to shore. Anyone have experience with a proper setup so it doesn't fly off while we are underway?

I have a 240 sundeck and I'm looking at doing the same thing. I'm just gonna get a 3 to 4 person cheap inflatable. I haven't look into how I would tie it down yet but I believe the 240s have a bigger swim platform so it may be easier for me.

I have a 2001 Sundeck 240 and use a cheap 2 person inflatable row boat. If it is inflated I lay it down across the back (where it says Sea Ray) and tie it down using the aft cleats and some blue rope. I prefer to store it below the deck then inflate it when we get to the anchorage using a motorized pump but as long as it is tied down tightly I never had any problems from it flying away.

Ours is a slightly smaller boat but we can drag a 5' round towable/tube with us easily. I made a very short rope -5' with loops in each end. One end hooks onto the ski - pull cleat at the stern. Other end goes thru the rope attachment on the towable. Adjusted the rope until the towable has the front edge just on the swim platform. Hasn't left us yet & leaves a lot more room than hauling around with this tied on the bimini poles at the stern.

I keep a 3 person tube on the back of our 240 with suction cups from Overtons. They have a 4 foot strap on each that we run thru the tube handles. Works great. Suction cups have about a 4 inch diameter and stick to the flat top section on either side of the boat near the rear cleats on top.
