Advice on late 80's - mid 90's Sundancer 25 or 26'

Considering one of these because I can do it without a loan and have a few K left over for the inevitable things that a survey doesn't reveal. Would appreciate any advice on the following:

1. For 2 adults doing 3-4 day overnights, is the 1' additional room of the 26' Sundancer going to make a big difference?

2. I live in Seattle and when I look at boats on yachtworld, seems like the prices in the Midwest average about 20% less than the Northwest for the same boat. Am thinking that a boat from the Midwest would be a good bet because it would never have been used in salt water. Even though it would cost time and/or $ to haul it back to Seattle, would it make sense to consider this?

3. I have the option of fresh water covered moorage or rack storage. I know that I'll use it more often it it's kept in the water. Is fresh water moorage going to appreciably shorten the life of the outdrive versus keeping it on a rack?

4. In terms of late 80's to mid 90's, are there any years that you would avoid or prefer over others?

Thanks!

I am very familiar with these vessels. The 26 gets you a dinette separate from the v-birth which is great for overnighting. Yes a 26 should be comfortable for two. My wife and I have stayed on ours at Lake Powell for over a week at a time.

I would very highly recommend rack storing over in water for the entire boat, not just the drive. Boats age much, much slower out of the water.

I have worked on this vintage of Sea Rays extensively and can give you a lot of info. You can PM me if you want to chat live.

we have had our 1995 250 Sundancer for 3 years now. We truly love it, however we have kids that have to come with us. LOL It is a dream and very comfortable when it's just my husband and myself for the weekend.

We bought it for the same reason, it was more affordable for us for a first boat. We didn't even know if we would like it. Now I am a boat addict and have talked him into buying a bigger Sea Ray.

I think you and your wife will truly enjoy the 250 or the 260 plus you will have a little change left for gas.

ok you have probably purchased a boat by now. Sorry, I didn't look at the date posted. I am a nerd too....did I mention that?
