Just installed all new canvas, frames and isinglass on my 01 260 DA. Direct replacement pieces from Great lakes. I installed the snaps myself and felt I had a very good, tight fit on everything. Yesterday I was boating in the rain and had the front and side (visor) isinglass panels installed underway for the first time. When I ran at my normal cruising speed (around 30 mph) the panels all came loose at the bottom where the rubber hooks into the top front of the windsheild frame and blew in on me. I figured that my bimini frame straps were too taught and that was causing slack in the visor panels - so I loosened both straps to the point where the visors took up all the tension between the frame and bimini top. Started up again and not long after I got to speed - out they came again. Got frustrated and ran the rest of the way with rain in my face. I am certain that the rubber was securely fastened into the winshield frame. I am theorizing that the rain water getting into the track possibly caused the rubber to slip out? (Not a great theory - but all I have come up with so far) Anyone experienced this? Any tips to prevent this recurring in the future?

just be sure to push rubber part all way into groove on windshield.
it should sit flush when fully-in and may require a little more pressure to push it in since it is a new rubber

You used the visors before, but it was the old ones, correct? I mean, this isn't your first experience with the visors, is it?

If you're positive that the both ends of the "T" portion of the rubber hooks were securely into the channel, they should not come out. Be sure that there is no tension on the bimini straps. The visors should take it all.

I don't believe the rain getting into the track has anything to do with it.

Yes, I have been using the old ones with no problems having them staying in - just couldn't see thru them very well. I guess the new rubber must be a little tougher to get properly seated. I will try again more carefully. Thanks for the advice.

Try wiping (generously) some vinyl conditioner on the rubber. It will make it a lot easier, plus once it's in you can slide it if you have to re-adjust, rather than pulling it back out. Whatever you use on your seats will be fine.

Don't worry, it won't make it pop back out. It will stay locked in just as good.
