Came through this for the first time yesterday. Followed Active Captain advice for staying west of these four markers. Between 81C and 81D I kissed the bottom and near low tide (didn't ground but the props dug in enough to cut the engines). Looking at the charts it sure seems you should stay east of 81B and C, not west. The chart shows 10ft at low tide from 81A to 81D if you stay east of 81B and 81C. Can anyone who takes this route give me advice for the ride back in a few months?

After talking to locals I cut into the middle of the channel too fast after 81c. Should have stayed out at the red market at 81d.

Yup, my first time thru there was a little dicey too. You do have to stay on the western side of the buoys, as the shocking there changes all the time. I know it looks like you are going awfully near the shore, but that is the way thru there. I have never noticed the water depth less than 8 feet and have now been thru there a half dozen times since buying the boat.
Happy New Year.
